Our Story

Madhya Pradesh Tamil Sangam was established to serve as a cultural anchor for Tamils who have made the heartland of India their home. Like many Tamil communities across the country — from the pioneering Tamil Sangam of Bhopal (registered in 1974 under the BHEL township) to the newer Tamil Sangams across districts — our Sangam was born from the collective desire to preserve Tamil identity far from Tamil Nadu.

Tamil professionals, government employees, entrepreneurs, and families who migrated to Madhya Pradesh for work and opportunity found that while they embraced their new home, they never let go of their mother tongue, their customs, or their cultural heritage.

The Sangam emerged as a natural meeting point — a space where Tamil pride is celebrated, where children grow up knowing their roots, and where elders feel at home.
